Eco Group

The ECO group is run by Miss Masson.  There are 2 Eco monitors in each class.

 Have a look at our lovely eco garden at the entrance tthe school.

 

 

This is us painting our Eco garden sign. 

We work with people from Bridgend to develop our eco garden. They have lots of know-how. 

Last year we planted:

 - 2 apple trees donated to us after we helped plant fruit trees near Greendykes flats.

 - tatties

 - carrots which the birds ate!

 - pumpkin which was eaten by an insect

 - runner beans and wheat

 

This year we have 2 new raised beds to give us more room to plant more things.

When we plant things we add in our own compost too.

We try to recycle at Castleview. We organise collections of old shoes and clothes for our Rag Bags. Then a company comes to collect it and gives our School money to spend on nice things. It all gets recycled. Some if it's good enought quality just gets given to  people in need. The rest is broken down and used to make new things.

 

 

We also are collecting old mobile phones. When you hand in an old phone you get to choose a prize.

 

We work with fones4schools to do this. They have interesting kids pages too. 

We are also involved in generation green

 

and we collect vouchers for Morrisons so we can buy equipment.
