Armistice Day - 2 minute silence in Castleview

Primary 7 organised the 2 minute silence for Armistice Day - 11 o'clock on the 11th day of the 11th month.  Primary 7's went around all classes to explain what Armistice Day and Remembrance Day are.

All children and adults observed the silence and remembered all those who fought so that we could be free.

This a photo of Major Johnston with Primary 7, Miss Taylor and Mres Robertson - he explained why we wear the poppy and why we remember on 11/11.  He was an interesting man and was able to describe what it is like to be in the army.

Primary 7 Mock Election

For the mock election we got into 4 different parties and each member of the party had a different job to do.  The candidate had the job of coordinating the party and delegating tasks.  The groups worked very well together producing an election campaign including posters, leaflets, banners, and rosettes.  On election day, each party did their speech along with their election propaganda and PowerPoint’s.  P4, P5 and P6 voted for their favourite party who canvassed for the issues that they agreed with most.  The winner was announced over the loud speaker - the winner was.....The Future Party - candidate  - Carlene Cooper.  What a fantastic project.
